CEO Message
What You Think About, and Thank About, You Bring About!
By Raymond J. Faltinsky, CEO & Co-Founder
Dear Friends,
As we closed our 2009 Convention in Phoenix, I shared a concept that I said if applied would have a more dramatic impact on your FreeLife business and your life than any other. A concept, that if you refer back to it and practice it, will help you achieve anything and everything you want in life. A concept that virtually all of the great philosophers, business leaders, and spiritual leaders spoke about consistently.
Since our event in September, I’ve received numerous requests to send out copies of that speech. What I’ve decided to do is make this topic my CEO letter this month.
Here is the concept:
“What you THINK about, and THANK about, you BRING about.”
Let’s explore the first part of that sentence: “What you THINK about.”
First, what do you think about? Do you know exactly what you want in FreeLife? Do you have your goals in writing?
If you have not done so already, set your goals tonight before you go to bed. Put them in writing.
The most successful people in the world put their goals in writing and know exactly what they want.
"What this power is I cannot say; all I know is that it exists and it becomes available only when a man is in that state of mind in which he knows exactly what he wants and is fully determined not to quit until he finds it."
– Alexander Graham Bell“We all need lots of powerful long-range goals to help us past the short-term obstacles.”
– Jim Rohn
You need to understand there are going to be some obstacles along the way. So here is something to remember from Dr. John Demartini:
“The more down and out you’ve been, the more in and up you are destined to soar!”
I love the example of Michael Jordan. Many consider him the greatest basketball player of all time and he was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame. Here is the most amazing thing: he was cut from his high school basketball team! Yes, I know it seems ridiculous but it’s true. But he had a goal and was completely focused. In his acceptance speech for the Hall of Fame, Jordan stated to the coach who cut him: “I wanted to make sure you understood; you made a mistake, dude!”
So first, you need to have a goal and be passionate about it.
Second is to “THANK” about it. In a word: GRATITUDE. Gratitude is thankfulness.
“Focus on the flowers, not on the weeds!”
– Dr. John Demartini
We all have a tendency to focus on the weeds, instead of the flowers. We have a tendency to take things for granted. But change your thinking and you will change your life.
“Don’t look for opportunities in the far distances of space and time, but embrace them right where you are, because where you are already has the perfection and the balance.”
– Napoleon Hill
Right now is the perfect time for FreeLife International. More people are looking for ways to make money. There is more money available in FreeLife than ever before, especially with the Service Pool and Daily Pay. And with Jule of the Orient, we are going to have a greater impact on health than any product we have ever seen!
"If the only prayer you say in your life is ‘thank you,’ that would suffice."
– Meister Eckhart
The more grateful you are for what you have, the more great things you attract into your life. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.
“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.”
– Cicero
Cicero states that gratitude is “the parent of all others.” That is a powerful statement!
“Of all the attitudes we can acquire, surely the attitude of gratitude is the most important and by far the most life-changing.”
– Zig Ziglar
One of the most important lessons I’m teaching my four children is the power of gratitude. If you ever meet them, ask them what they think of gratitude and they will tell you, without any hesitation, “Gratitude is the best attitude!”
“When we were children, we were grateful to those who filled our stockings at Christmas time. Why are we not grateful to God for filling our stockings with legs?’’
– G.K. Chesterton
Count your blessings every single day. I had a good friend when I was in law school who was a quadriplegic. It was very humbling to see him struggle each day, but he very rarely complained. Each day I spent time with him I would be so grateful that I could walk and move my arms. We take those things for granted, but when you spend time with someone who can’t do those things, it’s a tremendous reminder to be grateful for each and every moment.
“You have been given a body perfect for your mission! The moment you realize that and the moment you have gratitude for that is the moment your body brings you to new heights!”
– Dr. John Demartini“He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.”
– Epictetus“There is no greater difference between men than between grateful and ungrateful people.”
– R.H. Blyth“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
–The Bible, Philippians 4:6
“Requests” are your goals and “with thanksgiving” means with gratitude.
The simple truth is that the more grateful you are for what you have, the more great things you will attract into your life. So here is the secret: Find the good in everything. In every situation, ask yourself, “What is great about this?”
You see, the quality of our life is based on the quality of the questions we ask.
What is great about this?
How does this serve me?
How is this strengthening me?
How is this helping to fulfill my mission?
Then answer that question: What is great about this?
If you practice this constantly, your life will transform in a way you could never, ever imagine. Sometimes it might require you to sit down and write down what is great about a situation.
In my life, I’ve had many situations where at first something did not appear like a blessing, but upon closer inspection, it clearly was a blessing. When I was 15 years old and my mom had osteoporosis, we never thought it was a blessing. But her condition opened my eyes to the tremendous value of nutritional supplements and from that FreeLife has gone on to improve millions of lives around the world. (And my mom is still doing great!) So in retrospect, it was one of the greatest blessings of my life and for many others!
When I was in college, I hurt my knee and could no longer play basketball. At that time this appeared devastating to me. Basketball was my life up to that point. But not being able to play basketball led to more time for studying, better grades, and more involvement in school activities, which all helped me get into Yale Law School, where I wrote my paper on Direct Selling and met Anson Beard, our first and largest investor in FreeLife! All that probably would not have happened if I had continued playing basketball.
The more you are grateful for every moment of your life, the more you have to be grateful for. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Let me share with you how I apply this formula every day.
First, I have my goals in writing and spend 15-20 minutes twice a day visualizing those goals. In my mind, I see tens of millions of people around the world benefiting from our products. I actually see this in detail. I visualize people telling me how their health has dramatically improved as a result of FreeLife.
I see an arena filled with 30,000 screaming FreeLife Leaders from around the world! I see people whose lives have been dramatically changed by our financial opportunity. I see our home office overflowing with Team Members, excitedly providing you with excellent customer service, amazing life-changing products, timely commission checks, and outstanding operational aspects of our business.
I see dozens of more offices opening up around the world as our message grows. I see hundreds of thousands of commission checks going out from our home office to hardworking Marketing Executives all around the world. I see these checks making an enormous difference in their lives.
Then I give thanks for all that we already have. Here are some of the things I am particularly grateful for right now, as I write this letter in my office:
I’m grateful for Dr. Jialiu Liu, who has joined our FreeLife Scientific Advisory Board, and for all the work he has done over the past 20 years leading up to the launch of Jule.
I’m grateful for Jule of the Orient. It is our belief that this product will have a greater impact on health worldwide than any product we have ever seen.
I’m grateful for our ability to do something we have never seen in this industry with Daily Pay. Now Leaders can get paid faster than ever before!
I’m grateful for our Healthy Shopping Dollars program, which not only rewards our best Customers with free product, but gives us greater retention than we have ever had in our business. And, retention is one of the great long-term success secrets of our business.
I’m grateful for GojiKids and the impact it has made on children around the world. I’m especially grateful for our partnership with Free The Children and the changes we are making to improve children’s lives in China.
I am grateful for Dan Caro and the inspiration that he is to so many around the world and to those he inspired at Convention.
I’m grateful for all of our trainers who gave everything they had in our workshops and general sessions at Convention. They trained with an abundance mentality and willingness to share their success secrets.
I’m grateful for our entire FreeLife Corporate Team from our management team to our partners around the world who serve you. I could not have dreamed up a better Corporate Team.
I’m grateful for Kevin. I could not have ever asked for a better partner in this business to serve all of you. I feel so blessed to have him not only as a business partner, but as my best friend. Thank you, Kevin!
I’m grateful for our new 75,000-square-foot building, which I hope all of you had a chance to visit.
I’m grateful for the new Marketing Executives who join us each day. They are the lifeblood of our business. They keep us focused on constant and never-ending improvement.
I’m grateful for all of our Leaders who will be attending our November Road to Royal. It is amazing to be able to share the vision of FreeLife with our newest up-and-coming Leaders!
